Blyss ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Cryptiic Studios Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Blyss mobile application ("the App").
1. Information we collect
When you use Blyss, we collect the following information:
- Account information: Email address and display name you provide when creating an account.
- Profile information: Display name and emoji avatar you choose.
- Mood data: Daily mood scores (1–5), optional mood notes, and timestamps.
- Group data: Group names, membership, and invite codes.
- Support notes: Anonymous messages you send to other group members.
- Device information: Push notification tokens for delivering notifications.
- Marketing preferences: If you opt in to receive updates about new features.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (mood logging, group features, streaks).
- Send push notifications (mood reminders, anonymous note alerts, low mood notifications to group members).
- Display your mood data to members of your groups.
- Improve the App and develop new features.
- Send you updates about new features if you have opted in.
3. Who can see your data
Your mood data is only visible to members of your groups. We do not share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Anonymous support notes are delivered without revealing the sender's identity to the recipient. Only the sender knows they sent the note.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore) with the following protections:
- All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
- Firestore security rules restrict data access to authorised users only.
- Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication.
- Mood scores are validated (1–5 only) and notes are limited to 280 characters.
- Groups are limited to a maximum of 8 members.
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Firebase: Authentication, database (Firestore), push notifications (FCM), and analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy
We do not use any advertising SDKs or sell your data to third parties.
6. Your rights and choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data: View your mood history and profile within the App.
- Update your data: Change your display name, emoji, email, and password in Settings.
- Delete your account: Permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings. This action is irreversible.
- Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from feature updates at any time within the App.
- Disable notifications: Turn off push notifications in the App settings or your device settings.
7. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data, mood entries, and group memberships are permanently deleted. Anonymous support notes you have sent may remain visible to recipients but cannot be traced back to you.
8. Children's privacy
Blyss is intended for users aged 12 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 12. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 12, we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
